Artist Statement

     Forrest grew up in rural Eastern Oregon and currently lives in Bend. He is endlessly inspired by Oregon's diverse landscapes, natural beauty and communities, which are recurring themes in his art. He shapes light and color, capturing mountains, life and what Oregonians recognize as home, with bold brushwork that celebrates the texture and unique qualities of oil paint on canvas. His work includes detailed paintings as large as his arm span, intimate still lifes, and painting en plein air (outdoors from life). 

   Forrest lets his expressive and loose brushwork of colors, light and reflections take on a life of their own, creating his own distinctive style.
